Present-Day Verdansk Is Gone For Good
Raven Software Creative Director Amos Hodge chatted with Treyarch to go over several key things involving Warzone Season 3.
At the beginning of the conversation, Hodge confirmed that Verdansk 84 is here to stay and the original Verdansk map would never be playable again.
“We want this event to be memorable. We want players to actually be active participants in the story. Players don’t know it but, current-day Verdansk, they’ll never play it in that state again. Current-day Verdansk is gone and it’s not coming back.”
Previously, VGC reported that Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 2 would be the last season to take place on the original Verdansk map. And based on Hodge’s statements, it looks like that report was accurate.
What Will Warzone Look Like Going Forward?
Hodge then brought up Verdansk 84 and how this Warzone map will be different than the OG Verdansk.
“It’s 1984 and it’s springtime. This is a completely different feel and vibe than wintertime current-day Verdansk. There’s 7 all-new locations. There’s 5 existing locations with brand-new layouts.”
At first glance, the map does seem to be a lot more vibrant than the OG version of Verdansk. Then there are the 7 new POIs, the 5 completely revamped POIs, and the new gulag that is based on the classic Black Ops 2 map Standoff.
