Is Warzone Getting Equipable Helmets?
According to leakers Nanikos and VanguardIntel, new equipable helmets could be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. Furthermore, it was said that operator voice lines for pinging helmets were also added to the files.
As we have reported, these unused files have been in the game since Call of Duty: Warzone launched. Why did they decide to not add helmets to the armor system? Well, Activision could have made this decision due to a variety of different reasons. It is video game development, after all.
However, VanguardIntel addressed this in a later series of tweets involving another Twitter user and TheGamingRevolution.
There’s a lot of confusion around Warzone right now.
The weapon meta hasn’t changed too much despite a nerf to the AUG and FFAR. Then, we have the rumored new map that will apparently be set in 1980s Verdansk. Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 3 is right around the corner too.
With all this (and more) on Raven Software’s plate, it would be strange to see such a major addition to the armor system in Warzone. That’s another reason why we are still fairly skeptical of Warzone adding helmets to the armor system. At least, for now.
As mentioned in the series of tweets above, it is entirely possible that these assets were put back into Warzone with the intention of using them down the line via a new game type or the 1980s Verdansk map.
However, like always, we recommend that you take all of this potential information with a grain of salt until Activision or Raven Software reveals more.
