The Variable Zoom Scope Appears To Be Broken In Warzone And Modern Warfare Multiplayer
YouTuber JGOD recently posted a video on a new bug in Call of Duty: Warzone.
In the video, JGOD tested out various sniper rifle scopes in multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone. Basically, any weapon with a Variable Zoom Scope will no longer have a glint.
Up until the recent updates, Modern Warfare weapons scopes were pretty simple. The larger scopes have glint when you aim down sights, meaning that the player(s) you are aiming at can see where you are.
By using the Variable Zoom Scope, players can now snipe away with no guarantee that they will be spotted. So, that’s unfortunate.
Activision is apparently aware of and investigating this issue. Over on the official Trello board for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, there’s a post on certain sniper scopes no longer having glint:
“Sniper scopes: Players are reporting that some/all IW8 sniper scopes no longer have glint.”
For those who don’t know, Modern Warfare and Warzone both run on the ‘IW8’ engine.
Some Weapon Perks Are Broken Too
JGOD wrapped up the video by noting other things that have been broken with the latest Warzone updates. According to the YouTuber, the following weapon perks do not work as intended:
- Focus
- Presence Of Mind
- Sleight Of Hand
It’s safe to say that Warzone has seen a lot of issues since Season 2 Reloaded went live from frustrating glitches to harsh meta weapons. However, Raven Software did send out a hotfix on April 6th to nerf the AUG and the FFAR.

Bonjours, depuis cette après midi beaucoup de fenêtre ne casse pas quand je veux passer au travers, je suis obligé de tapé pour les cassé…
When playing the game the FOV is different I can see my gun or use a knife. When I zoom in I have no center point so there is no ability to aim. I use a thermal scope and when zoomed in it doesn’t work either.
