Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Teaser Leaked By NickMerks

Yesterday, NickMercs began his usual Twitch stream in a VERY unusual way. He started his stream and immediately got into the details of what happened to him the night before. He received a strange visitor in the late hours of the night, who delivered a package containing a large-sized Rook Chess Piece with a hollowed-out compartment at the bottom.

Inside of this secret compartment was a USB drive containing a teaser for Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare.

Here’s the entire clip showing him explaining how he received the package, as well as going over what he believes this could mean for the future of Verdansk and Warzone!

Interesting things to note from this are:

  • The date August 5th appears at the top, we can assume this is when Season 5 will arrive
  • This confirms the information we had previously reported about an Apex Legends type train coming to Verdansk that will circle the map and be loaded with loot boxes.

  • Nick mentions that he believes that Verdansk will no longer be the Warzone map, and he thinks that we are moving on to something better. ModernWarzone does not believe this to be the case.

  • The chess piece from the package is a rook, which is the logo for Shadow Company, which is a group of elite military contractors under the direct command of General Shepherd. They directly assisted in the betrayal of Task Force 141 in Modern Warfare 2. Rook was also a character in Modern Warfare 2, but was killed by Shadow Company.

We are all excited for Season 5 and hope that there are more teasers to come before the expected start date of August 5th.
