In a blog post, Treyarch and Activision thanked players by showcasing all the free content they will receive throughout the first season. But, that’s not all. Along with the free content, it was revealed that Treyarch’s next Double XP and Double Weapon XP event will start on December 12th.
“To thank you for your continued support and patience, and to help you level up before Season One, Treyarch will be enabling Double XP and Double Weapon XP in Black Ops Cold War from 10AM PT Saturday, Dec. 12 until the launch of Season One.”
Not only is this a nice consolation gift to hold everyone over until Black Ops Cold War Season 1 but, it also gives the players in the CoD zombies community a chance to progress faster after not being able to do so during the Nuketown 24/7 Double XP period.
Long story short, when Nuketown 24/7 initially launched and Double XP went live, leveling up your weapons in zombies was extremely easy. Not too long after, however, Treyarch sent out a patch that actually slowed down weapon progression too much. So, many players who primarily play zombies were not able to really benefit from the Double XP and Double Weapon XP week. This would eventually be fixed in the game’s November 30th patch where Treyarch also stated that they would have more Double XP events in December.
