UPDATE: As first reported by CharlieIntel, Activision has removed the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow from Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

The “Archaic Range” bundle, which contained a legendary blueprint for the weapon, has been removed from the store as well. Anyone who purchased this bundle will be refunded.

Furthermore, the in-game challenge required to unlock the R1 Shadowhunter will return at a later date.

The original story goes as follows:

Unlocking The R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow In Black Ops Cold War

Treyarch has made the R1 Shadowhunter available to unlock in Black Ops Cold War via an in-game challenge. Here’s what you have to do to unlock this crossbow:

“Using a weapon with no attachments, get 3 One Shot, One Kill medals in 15 different matches.”

Simple enough. However, players should keep in mind that they will need to actually finish each match to progress in this challenge.

So, what should players expect from the R1 Shadowhunter? Here’s how Activision described the weapon when hyping up all sorts of content for Black Ops Cold War’s second season:

“This crossbow’s simple and lightweight design allows for great handling and quieter eliminations. If an Operator doesn’t prefer its iron sights, they can still shoot accurately from the hip in close quarters or opt to attach one of several Optics. Happy hunting.”

R1 Shadowhunter Bundle Releases Early But, Players Can’t Equip It

Usually, players could also unlock these in-season weapons by purchasing special bundles from the Black Ops Cold War store page. There seems to be some type of mix-up this time around though.

Earlier this morning, a bundle that included the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow was made available on the Black Ops Cold War store page. Players could indeed purchase the bundle and it would show up in their bundle locker. But, they couldn’t equip it in-game.

We’ll update this story if Treyarch, Raven Software, or Activision releases more info about the bundle.
