Treyarch has revealed an official cosplay guide for Black Ops Cold War zombies.

Along with that, we now have our first official descriptions for two of the major characters in the Black Ops Cold War zombies story, Grigori Weaver and Samantha Maxis. Here are the background descriptions for both characters:

Grigori Weaver

“Veteran covert agent Grigori Weaver returns to action as the Special Commander of Requiem — a CIA strike team tasked with combating zombie outbreaks around the globe.

Though this Russian-American wore the uniform of a special forces Operator in the past, Weaver now wears a shirt and tie as he oversees field ops from his command center. Now in his late 40s with salt-and-pepper hair and bushy mustache, Weaver stills sports an eyepatch — a reminder that Black Ops victories come at a price.”

Samantha Maxis

“Now in her early 30s, Samantha’s intelligence, fearlessness, and fluency with languages led her to a career in covert operations as an agent of the West German BND intelligence agency. However, the events of Black Ops Cold War lead her to go ‘rogue’ as she attempts to stop the zombie outbreaks unleashed by the events at Projekt Endstation.

Her knee-high boots, leather coat, and silk scarf are stylish yet practical, as Sam is above all capable, self-reliant, and no-nonsense –despite her dry wit and gallows humor.”

Black Ops Cold War Zombies Story – The Basics

The narrative that took place from Call of Duty: World at War to Black Ops 4 has concluded. However, remnants of the Dark Aether are now creeping into the new universe Primis, Victis, and Ultimis created in Black Ops 4.

This is why Samantha Maxis won’t be controlling the zombies in Black Ops Cold War. Instead, Samantha had a totally different childhood and as the description stated, it led her to become a covert agent for the West German BND intelligence agency.

Grigori Weaver’s place in the story is more surprising. Weaver was a popular figure in the Black Ops 1 campaign but, he hasn’t been featured much since that time. Placing Weaver into the Black Ops Cold War zombies narrative ties the campaign and zombies worlds together. It also brings back a fan-favorite.

We’ll drop into BOCW zombies as a member of Requiem, a CIA team led by Grigori Weaver. You’re initially sent to a seemingly abandoned facility previously held by the Nazis (and then Soviets) called Projekt Endstation. There, you’re tasked with uncovering the secrets hidden in the facility while attempting to survive the zombie horde.
