New Year, New Content For Black Ops Cold War Zombies
To celebrate the new year, Treyarch has seemingly announced that the fan-favorite Tombstone perk will return to Call of Duty zombies in Black Ops Cold War.
For those of you who don’t know what Tombstone does, it’s basically a way to keep the weapons and perks you died with. But, this perk does have its fair share of detractors mainly because it gives players a reason to die. YouTuber Tim Hansen explains its faults pretty well in this video (skip to 1:41).
This news doesn’t totally come out of left field either. Back in November, YouTuber FireMonkey 2 posted a video that potentially contained jingles for 4 perks coming to BOCW. The perks shown in that video were:
- Tombstone
- Double Tap
- PHD Flopper
- Mule Kick
It’ll be interesting to see when, or if, we see the rest of those perks and how the studio plans to roll out these perks over future seasons.
Many in the Call of Duty zombies community have been waiting on more meaningful content in BOCW zombies. The game’s new limited-mode (Jingle Hells) and the upcoming Cranked mode is a decent start. However, stuff like new perks and maps will be what keeps the BOCW zombies mode thriving.

They need add new maps like rebirth island part one and part 2 and what up with the raid onslaught map it not pop up so I confused and I thought a new shootgun was being added but it nice to see some new perks.. and the Magnum needs a little work on the accuracy
Haven’t been able to play Onslaught (Xbox player here) so I can’t really say anything about that. But yeah, they definitely need some new maps. I’ve said it before in articles and I’ve heard it in other people’s videos but it’s still weird to think this is the least amount of Treyarch zombies maps we’ve gotten at launch since World at War in 2008.
We need transit from bo2 in cold war
I actually hopped on Tranzit today. The lava and denizens just kill it for me. But if they decided to make it now with all the upgraded tech in these consoles, Tranzit would be awesome!
My opinion, Mule kick would have been a better choice!!
Yeah, I agree. Tombstone isn’t that great of a perk imo. Personally, Mule Kick is very solid but I’d like to see Widow’s Wine somehow come back. Still, I’m just excited to see there are more perks on the way.

Where are the special guns all we get is the ray gun mark 1 where’s mark 2 and 3,there’s no shield, I’ve been waiting for another zombies to come out for a while and this is all 4perks an unupgradable wonder weapon and no shield:suggestions,how about make a huge map just one put all the perjs in it raise the price of the box to like 2500 and put nothing but specialty and legendary guns in it make a few different zombies and let us go at it cause this gotten old already

They need to fix the game first before adding new perks. Offline split screen is completely broken. Some of us enjoy being able to play a game we have purchased without paying for additional subscriptions all the time.
I just want them to fix the Constant crashes on pc. Nobody cares about new maps, if you can’t even play it.

Adding a third “get out of jail free” card seems a little more than overkill…. I already just get tired and quit before I ever die, now if by chance i do there won’t be anything but a points penalty equal to the cost of tombstone? Rename this zombies for zombies.
Tomb stone!? What good is that now you get a stupid amount of points when you respawn?
PhD Flopper is up there with the best perks! How fun was diving off the platforms on ascension!!
Double tap would be OP in this game but was also a great perk – I mean who doesn’t like a faster firing weapon!?
I’d love to see galv knuckles come back even if they are only obtainable from completing let’s say dark ops master!? Because that don’t give you nothing either lol
