Black Ops Cold War And Season 3 Roadmap Highlights Include New Weapons, Operators, And More
Activision has revealed the roadmap for Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3!
This new season will bring new operators, weapons, and changes to the Warzone map. Here are the highlights:
When Does Black Ops Cold War And Warzone Season 3 Start?
- Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 3 will officially launch on April 22nd
- Black Ops Cold War will get the Season 3 update on April 21st at 12 AM ET
- Warzone will get the Season 3 update on April 22nd at 12 AM ET

Warzone Event Incoming
- Verdansk has been contaminated by the zombie outbreak. In the blog post, Activision teased that the map will see some huge changes in Season 3 due to the outbreak
- The publisher also encouraged players to be available for some kind of Warzone event called Operation Rapid Sunder “throughout Wednesday, April 21st and beyond.”
- It seems this Warzone event will kick off on April 21st at 3 PM ET
The official Call of Duty Twitter account also posted this message telling players to standby and potentially revealing the times for the Warzone live events:
Hunt For Adler Event
- This limited-timed event will start at the launch of Season 3
- Complete in-game challenges across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone to unlock various cosmetics and to find Adler
- By completing a full set of challenges in either game during the event, you’ll also unlock a new Adler skin

- Log into Black Ops Cold War after the Season 3 update and you’ll receive the iconic Captain Price as a new operator
- You can use this version of the character in Warzone after logging online in Black Ops Cold War
- Wraith
- Warsaw Pact
- Unlock Wraith at Tier 0 of the Season 3 battle pass and another Legendary skin for Wraith can be unlocked at Tier 100

Sticks And Stones Mode Is Back!
- Available at the launch of Season 3
- Players are equipped with the following:
- R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow
- Ballistic Knife
- Tomahawk
- Kill players with these weapons to earn points. You can also bankrupt other players by hitting them with the Tomahawk (this will drop their score back to 0)
Multi-Team Elimination Seems Interesting
- New mode across the larger maps
- Available in-season
- Multi-Team Elimination will see several teams of 4 attempt to survive expanding radiation zones with limited redeploys and restricted loadouts. By looting, players can find various items including armor plates and redeploy tickets.
- To win, you can either be the last team standing or successfully exfil via chopper during the final safe zone.

- Accessible in Multi-Team modes
What’s Going On With Outbreak?
- Toxic Growth
- New Field Upgrade
- Toxic Growth spawns toxic thorns in front of the operator that will slow down and possibly even kill zombies
- When upgraded, Toxic Growth can:
- Get more charges
- Double its damage
- Cause zombies to explode upon dying
- Duga
- New Outbreak map
- Available on launch week
- FAV And Cargo Truck
- New Outbreak vehicles
- Available on launch week
- New Content For Outbreak
- More interactive events across Outbreak
- Players can obtain upgrades for the D.I.E. Machine
- Destroy Fury Crystals to unlock the Aether Tool item
- Expanded Outbreak objectives
- More content for Onslaught (PlayStation-only)
- All of this will be available on launch week
