Call of Duty: Warzone’s Rebirth Island – The Basics
In a strategy guide, Activision has revealed a ton of details on the latest Call of Duty: Warzone map, Rebirth Island. Here’s how the publisher describes the new location.
“An illicit Soviet base raided and shut down by the CIA in 1968, during which Operator Russell Adler caught and forcefully interrogated the base commander Vikhor ‘Stitch’ Kuzmin, it appears this island was rebuilt and recommissioned by Stitch in 1984 with one purpose: the creation and testing of the deadly Nova 6 gas.
Part prison, part chemical bioweapons manufacturing and testing facility, the entire island has dozens of locations to explore including laboratories, barracks, decontamination areas, and a hilltop prison block where unspeakable acts have been perpetrated.
Prepare for intense, close-quarter action with a similar playstyle to Warzone’s Mini BR mode as Rebirth Island comes to Warzone. Expect Trios and Quads with a lower player count than Verdansk, amping up the action and intensity until the final circle, or the last squad is left standing.”
Since it is a new map for Call of Duty: Warzone, Rebirth Island will have its own Gulag and there are 11 buy stations scattered throughout the map in case someone on your team doesn’t survive their fight in the Gulag.

Rebirth Island Will Have An Easter Egg
Like the Subway and Stadium easter eggs, Rebirth Island will feature its own secret objective outside of being the last team alive. In the aforementioned strategy guide, Activision posted some tips on how to thrive on the mini-royale map. Tip #16 is particularly interesting as it hints at “The Yellow Door.” Here’s how Activision describes it.
“The Headquarters Command Center’s first floor has a locked yellow door; those who have the code could crack open the secrets of Rebirth Island, and might get a reward for doing so… Just remember to pack some CQB weapons to deal with fellow Easter Egg hunters who lurk inside this building.”
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 brings new maps, modes, weapons, blueprints, and more to the immensely popular first-person shooter. BOCW will officially integrate with Call of Duty: Warzone on December 16th. This is also when Season 1 officially launches.
